Suitable for Flexible Mixed-Model Production | SMARTWIN BMS Linear Motor Modules Balance Efficiency, Precision and Easy Maintenance
Numerous automated production lines are shifting toward mixed production of multiple workpieces and long-distance cross-stroke conveying. Traditional ball screw modules feature a low maximum speed and tend to suffer deflection deformation when the stroke is extended. Separately assembled linear motors, on the other hand, impose high requirements on equipment manufacturers’ assembly and calibration capabilities, resulting in lengthy commissioning cycles. As a domestic direct-drive manufacturer, SMARTWIN Intelligent Equipment has launched the integrated BMS linear motor module. Leveraging its high-speed direct-drive architecture, long-stroke compatible design and low-maintenance structure, it addresses various practical challenges of long-distance precision motion on flexible production lines.

The BMS module eliminates intermediate transmission structures such as ball screws and timing belts, and operates via direct linear motor drive. Its maximum operating speed reaches 5 m/s, far exceeding conventional ball screw modules. With continuous thrust ranging from 65 N to 3839 N, it adapts to high-speed sorting of light workpieces and long-distance transportation of medium loads. The standard maximum stroke of 5788 mm perfectly fits multi-process linkage production lines for lithium batteries and photovoltaics. Adopting a dual linear guide support structure, the module delivers enhanced overall rigidity. Even during high-speed reciprocating motion at full stroke, structural deformation is kept to a minimum, ensuring micron-level positioning accuracy required for vision alignment, precision cutting and other processes.

The semi-closed sheet metal protective structure is compatible with all types of standard production workshops. The housing blocks dust and splashing cutting fluid to reduce internal wear of guide rails and motors. Meanwhile, friction pair materials of the module are optimized to lower operating noise and dust generation, making it suitable for precision processing scenarios with basic cleanliness requirements. The external centralized lubrication port greatly simplifies daily maintenance. Conventional split modules require disassembly of protective sheet metal and segmented grease filling during maintenance. In contrast, the BMS module enables full guide rail lubrication simply by refilling oil through the unified external port. Maintenance man-hours are cut by 70%, minimizing production loss caused by line shutdown for servicing.

In terms of digital production compatibility, the BMS module can be equipped with SMARTWIN SA absolute linear encoders. It automatically memorizes coordinates after power failure, eliminating the need for homing during production changeovers or line restarts to quickly restore production rhythm.During operation, position, speed and load data are synchronously uploaded via AKS servo drives. Operators can predict guide rail lubrication wear and abnormal load conditions based on the data to arrange maintenance in advance and avoid unexpected shutdowns. SMARTWIN Intelligent Equipment provides a complete set of matching motion components including linear motors, servo drives and encoders with uniformly calibrated parameters. We arrange professional technicians to offer on-site installation and commissioning guidance, helping equipment manufacturers balance production efficiency, machining precision and long-term operation & maintenance costs for flexible production line projects.
