In direct-drive transmission systems, encoders act as the "sensory nerve" for position detection. They directly determine the positioning accuracy, dynamic stability and closed-loop control reliability of linear motors and torque motors, and are also among the key bottleneck components for realizing domestic substitution of high-end automated equipment. As one of the few domestic direct-drive enterprises that independently develop and produce three integrated product lines: linear motors, servo drives, and a full range of encoders, SMARTWIN Intelligent Equipment has comprehensively deployed three major encoder product lines: optical linear encoders, magnetic linear encoders and rotary grating encoders. SMARTWIN’ s encoder product portfolio features clear technical hierarchy and application segmentation, divided into two technical routes based on measurement principle: optical and magnetic encoders. The SH/SA series optical linear encoders and SHR/SAR series rotary encoders adopt high-precision photo-lithographic grating tracks, offering a maximum resolution of 0.05 um. The readhead adopt sealed anti-contamination coating technology. Non-contact reading eliminates mechanical wear, while signals deliver excellent resistance to thermal drift. The encoders can stably output micron-level and even sub-micron position data, making them the preferred choice for clean and high-precision scenarios including semiconductor wafer transmission, optical precision inspection, and medical imaging rotary tables. Among the lineup, SA32 linear absolute encoders and SAR series annular absolute rotary encoders permanently retain absolute coordinates after power failure. No homing operation is required upon equipment restart, drastically reducing changeover standby time on flexible production lines. They are perfectly suited for ultra-high-precision processes such as micro-alignment of lithography machine stages and stepping indexing on probe stations.

For harsh mass-production operating conditions exposed to dust, oil contamination and cutting debris, SMARTWIN provides CH incremental magnetic encoders and CA26 absolute magnetic encoders as alternative solutions.
Operating on the non-contact magnetic induction reading principle, magnetic encoders allow a relatively large mounting gap between the readhead and magnetic tape. Minor dust, cutting fluid and oil stains will not interrupt signal transmission. The CA26 magnetic encoder reaches IP67 protection rating with a maximum resolution of 1 μm. Benefiting from superior environmental adaptability and cost performance, these products are widely adopted in lithium battery stacking equipment, photovoltaic silicon wafer sorting systems and long-travel handling modules for laser cutting. They address the pain point that optical encoders are susceptible to signal interference caused by workshop contaminants, enabling long-term stable closed-loop feedback under demanding working conditions.These two technical routes complement each other: they maintain the upper limit of precision for ultra-precision applications while meeting the durability and cost requirements of general mass-production lines. In terms of system compatibility, all SMARTWIN encoders feature deep underlying algorithm integration with SMARTWIN AKS servo drives. The drives are embedded with adaptive filtering for encoder signals, cogging force compensation and thermal drift error correction routines. They dynamically adjust three-loop PID parameters in real time based on encoder feedback data, thoroughly eliminating high-speed vibration of long-travel linear modules and low-speed torque ripple of torque motors. Furthermore, the encoders support mainstream output formats including differential ABZ and SIN/COS analog signals. They can be matched with our proprietary direct-drive motors for complete drive solutions, and are also compatible with third-party servo systems, offering maximum selection flexibility for machinery manufacturers. All mechanical structures adopt compact and lightweight design, equipped with LED status indicators for fault diagnosis. The products feature high tolerance for mounting gaps and allow convenient assembly, disassembly and commissioning, greatly reducing difficulties in machine assembly and subsequent troubleshooting.

The full range of encoders are independently developed throughout ever link, including grating track lithography, readhead circuit design and protocol firmware programming. This frees us from reliance on overseas suppliers for chips and core algorithms. Standard models are available from stock, while custom specifications such as non-standard bore sizes, special communication protocols and customized protection ratings can be rapidly developed and delivered. All units undergo reliability testing prior to shipment, including temperature cycling, vibration shock and continuous power-on burn-in tests to guarantee consistent performance in mass installation.
